All custom pack orders will require a non-refundable deposit of $50. Because we are a micro-cottage industry, there can be a backlog in producing custom orders, although we will work with your time constraints to fulfill your order in the shortest time possible.

Color

We only stock rolls of cordura the two colors shown, "Ithilen" Green and "Emyn-Muil" Brown, and normally only make the Jensens and Giants in their signature color. We can swap the colors, if you desire, and there is no extra charge, but as in all custom work a deposit will be required.

We can also make a pack in your choice of color, depending on availability. There are typically about 25+ manufactured colors to choose from. Because we cannot buy small quantities of fabric at wholesale, this will add $35 to the cost of the pack.

Corduroy

The standard corduroy is a khaki, medium wale blend of 80% cotton and 20% polyester. Although we prefer to use a blend closer to 50-50, those are not currently available in a traditional corduroy. We can now build packs with a pinwale blend of 50% polyester, 39% rayon, 11% olefin . This modern blend will not absorb water. Until longevity testing is done it is only available on a special basis. It adds $20 to the cost of the pack! There is also a small quantity of dark olive corduroy available in some sizes.

Rainliner/ Raincover

The rainliner is made from urethane coated ripstop nylon, and is attached to the inside of the pack with velcro. The rainliner not only adds a second layer of coated material to the weather-proofness of your pack, but also protects the coating on the cordura from continued use and abrasion from gear. So by using a rainliner you extend the useful life of the original coatings. The rainliner is inexpensive to replace, should it become worn out, and because of the unique design and loading system of The Jensen Pack™ it is not an encumberance to accessing your gear.

If you desire a liner, we need to add the velcro during the construction of the pack. It cannot be added at a later time.

-Rainliner option add $30

Extra Rugged Version (ERV)

This is the way I build all my personal packs: Instead of a single layer of cordura, I add in extra layers of various coated fabrics at critical points in the pack. Those locations are: The entire lower compartment and the area of the pack above the corduroy. This added water protection is extremely valuable if you plan on using the pack in wet climates for prolonged periods. Combined with the rainliner, it makes for a very weatherproof pack. All ERV packs will be fitted with snaps, so that pockets may be added at a later date. ERV's also come with 1/4" lacing pre-tied to all zipper sliders on the pack. Barbell leather is also beefier. Waxed "double shoulder" is used for greater longevity. By popular request, we are now adding a piece of "crossgrain ribbon" to the inside of the lower zipper. This helps to protect your sleeping bag from being snagged by the zipper.

-ERV option add $25
-ERV plus rainliner add $50

Sternum Strap

This add on item can be ordered at any time since it slips over the shoulder straps. It uses an elasticized band to wrap around the shoulder strap and can be moved up and down to find the appropriate comfort spot.

-Sternum Strap add $10
