Getting Sized Right

Because of the closely contoured fit, we offer each of our Jensen-style packs in five different lengths. A poor fit renders the design as useless as an ill-fitting boot.

The wearer's height is not always a good indication of the exact size needed and therefore we have developed a system for determining the correct size. You will need to have someone assist you with these measurements.

It is helpful to remove your shirt, to more clearly see and mark your measurements.

Stand erect and take your thumbs and place them on the topmost crest of your hips, at your sides, elbows out. Have your accomplice take a ruler and connect the tops of the shoulders. With some chalk, make a short, horizontal mark, on your back, along the TOP edge of the ruler, near the center of the spine.

Now have your friend connect your thumbs, with the ruler, and make a mark at the center of your spine.

Now measure the distance between the two marks and compare it to the table below.

Size of Pack Volume of Jensen pack Weight Length of back Volume of Giant Weight

Since there are variations in the way people do these measurements, please include your height and your pant inseam (length). Include all of these measurements in the spaces provided on your order form.

Before You Use Your New Pack

After you receive your Jensen pack, you will want to make sure that it fits properly. Load it up, following the recommended packing technique, and adjust the shoulder straps until the wrap-around tube sits nicely on top of your hips. Cinch up the waist belt and move around a bit. The pack should mold itself to your back and feel as if it were custom made for you. If it hits you above the small of your back, or drags around your bottom, it's not the right size. You will know a proper fit when you feel it. We will gladly exchange unused packs for the correct size.
